I am Loeke de Waal and I was born and raised in Utrecht, The Netherlands, but had fallen in love with the States way back in the ’90s. I recently made my move to Los Angeles, California to pursue my career in journalism and documentary. Here I look for the odd stories, beyond the clichés, specifically about human(ity).
I am a Hollywood Culture Correspondent for Dutch national news paper NRC Handelsblad and my work can also be found in FD Persoonlijk on European TV (NPO, RTL, SBS, Net5), online (NPO3, Brandpunt+, De Correspondent, FilmTotaal, VERS Magazine) and on Radio 1.
I’m a stickler for details, professional eavesdropper, film and documentary aficionado, lifestyle and entertainment encyclopedia, occasional bookworm, keeper of lists, weirdly good with faces & not a fan of spoilers and rain. Glad I settled in the Golden State.
